ARTIST BIO
I am a native Austinite fine artist with an oeuvre composed of oil and watercolor paintings depicting cultural subjects and landscapes in the Representational style. In my more recent work, I explore cultural ideas and expressions through narrative Symbolism and Expressionism. As a self-proclaimed 'Artist-Explorer', my work diaries my explorations in both the outer and inner worlds. Often accompanied by writings or photographs, I create windows to the world and to my inner being. I capture meaningful natural landscapes and heritage sites in detailed vibrance and pronounced contours, while creating internal expressions and stills through quieter, darker compositions. Both works, opposite and balanced, create a syzygy of the whole of my creative being. By capturing the earth and cultural subjects, whether that be ancient artifacts, intuitive symbols or metaphysical ideas, my work serves as a platform for introspection. Ultimately, my goal as an artist is to spotlight the quiet relics and ideas of humanity, cultural identities and nature that shapes us, that incessantly continue to be threatened by misunderstanding, malice and indifference. My art in summation is either provenanced or diarial - both equally personal and explorative.
As a first-gen BFA graduate in Illustration and Art History studies, a CAS Member, prior Art Teacher for Creative Action and active arts community volunteer across many organizations, my creative experiences are manifold and evolving as I continue to establish myself across the city. In recent time, I have showcased with Light Space and Time Gallery, PJAS Magazine, Allied Arts Association, Austin Studio Tour 2025 and am currently exhibiting with Mass Gallery as of January 2026 as part of the 'Lost and Found' Exhibition.

MASS Gallery presents Lost and Found, an exhibition in collaboration with artist Yvette Mayorga. Drawing from her ancestral ties to the Bracero Program—Mayorga reflects on the emotional resonance of personal objects carried across borders and generations. Extending this reflection outward, she has invited fellow creatives to share their own stories of “lost and found,” while also considering migration within broader ecological and social context. Nymera's 9" x 12" graphite on toned paper drawing, 'Assorted Mayan Vessels', celebrates these themes of cultural migration by capturing important Pre-Columbian artifacts in an empty space - exploring their extraction from their homes and timelines as we reflect on our relationship with cultural objects past and present. Inspired by the artists own connection to their heritage and anthropological studies, the three objects in the drawing are each in particular vessels - all used to serve different purposes, which Nymera feels are representative of our various cultural identifiers. On another level, Nymera captures the art of artifacts, presenting these existing objects as now newly recreated essences of their physical form, presented through a new lens for a modern audience in comparison to their original provenance.
